The following is the authentic Hadith on SubhanAllahi Wa Bihamdihi SubhanAllahil Azeem narrated by Abu Huraira RadiAllahu Anhu.

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “(There are) two words which are dear to the Beneficent (Allah) and very light (easy) for the tongue (to say), but very heavy in weight in the balance. They are: ”Subhan Allah wa-bi hamdihi” and ”Subhan Allah Al-`Azim.” – Sahih al-Bukhari 7563

Indeed, these two words are very light and easy to say, it takes hardly a second or two. The following line from the Holy Qur’an tells us why the remembrance of Allah is important.

Who have believed and whose hearts have rest in the remembrance of Allah. Verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest!

Surah Ar-Ra’d 13:28

SubhanAllahi Wa Bihamdihi 100 Times

There is one hadith that explains the importance of saying SubhanAllahi Wa Bihamdihi 100 times.

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “Whoever says, ‘SubhanAllahi Wa Bihamdihi,’ one hundred times a day, will be forgiven all his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea.

This shortest version of the dhikr has one more hadith that shows us its benefits, as follows.

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

He who recites in the morning and in the evening (these words):” Hallowed be Allah and all praise is due to Him” one hundred times, he would not bring on the Day of Resurrection anything excellent than this except one who utters these words or utters more than these words. – Sahih Muslim 2692
