A righteous wife or a life partner or a child does not come due to your mere efforts rather they are the provisions that are bestowed to the ones who have taqwa and fear Allah `azza wa jal (Mighty and the Majestic). As a strong believer, you can recite Rabbana Hablana Min Azwajina dua and ask Allah for a pious wife and child.
There is nothing wrong in asking for a beautiful, righteous wife or a righteous child from Allah because dua or supplication is an act of worship, and you have no one but Allah alone to ask from.
Rabbana Hablana Min Azwajina Full Dua
رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
Surah Furqan Ch. no. 25 Verse no. 74

Transliteration
Rabbana hablana min azwajina wa dhurriyyatina qurrata A’yunin waj’alna lil-muttaqina imama
Rabbana Hablana Min Azwajina Meaning
Our Lord! Bless us with pious spouses and offspring who will be the joy of our hearts, and make us models for the righteous.
Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders of the Muttaqin (the pious).
I would recommend you to recite La ilaha illa Anta Subhanaka Inni Kuntu Minaz Zalimin dua before reciting rabbana hablana min azwajina dua to get it accepted faster. Make sure you recite it after every obligatory prayer.
Also, the correct way is to glorify Allah, the most gracious and merciful before asking anything from Allah.

Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin Al-‘as (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “The world is but a (quick passing) enjoyment; and the best enjoyment of the world is a pious and virtuous wife”.

Importance of Pious Wife
It is really important for a person to give preference to piousness over beauty.
There is a story of Prophet Ibrahim A.S. when he visited his son Ismail A.S. This story teaches us a lot of things especially the virtue of marrying a pious wife.
When Prophet Ibrahim A.S. visited the house of his son, he knocked on the door.
When the door was opened he asked his daughter-in-law a very important challenging question –
“How is your life?”
So his daughter-in-law started complaining about everything and every aspect of life and how difficult things are for them.
Upon listening to everything Prophet Ibrahim A.S. asked his daughter-in-law to pass on a message to her husband Ismail A.S. when comes home.
The message was “Tell him that the man, the wayfarer, the traveler says to change the doorstep of your home“.
When Ismail A.S. came home his wife told him that, one man, A Wayfarer, came and visited his house and said “How’s it going?” and he has left a message for you. He said, “Change the doorstep of your home“.
So Ismail A.S divorced his wife.
Ismail A.S. married another wife, and again Ibrahim A.S. visited their house.
This time he again asked the same question “How’s it going?“
She replied (the new wife) Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah) we are content with whatever Allah gives us and grieves us by all means do so and we are good in all of that stuff Alhamdulillah.
Now can you hold on for a second and imagine what Ibrahim A.s would have told her?
Prophet Ibrahim A.S told her when her husband comes home to tell him to “hold on & be steadfast on the doorstep of your home“. So Ismail A.S kept her.
Benefits of Rabbana Hablana Min Azwajina dua
In the Holy Qur’an Surah An-Nur verse no. 26, it is mentioned that “Women of purity are for men of purity, and men of purity are for women of purity“, so my dear brothers and sisters before you ask Allah the Almighty for the pious partner I would urge you to first become righteous and have taqwa, then In Sha Allah, Allah will grant you what you desire.
